Hanging Baskets & Christmas Lights
The hanging baskets for summer 2008 have been the best so far, the rain has certainly helped. But in order to bring these beautiful displays to decorate Oakengates Town Centre much work and negotiations has taken place.
The Town Council has been involved but with their delegated powers the Social and Events Committee has been instrumental in the upgrading of the brackets including the engineering, testing, design and installation these multi use brackets will save many thousands of pounds as they are safer and a lower maintenance cost than the old brackets. These brackets will allow us to put up Christmas Lights and other attractions throughout the year.
Oakengates Regeneration Partnership secured the finance for the brackets and the new Christmas Lights, funding was made available through the Partnership from the Communal Fund from
Let us look forward to seeing the Christmas Lights up and running later in 2008. Hopefully everyone will agree that the system does work and the people of Oakengates and our visitors from other parts of the town will be delighted with the result.
